TOTAL COMM SPARES (the business) was the culmination of more than 15 years dedicated Commodore parts selling, dismantling, repairs & servicing by the late Robert Ammendola (1964-2008).

It was in late 2002 Robert decided to go it alone after fronting some of the biggest Commodore parts suppliers in the South Eastern suburbs & increasing their turnover immeasurably using his quick wit, natural charm & expert product/model knowledge. He was revered within the industry & one of the nicest most helpful dismantling business operators in Victoria.

Not one to take many risks, it came as a surprise when in 2002 Robert decided to open TOTAL COMM SPARES with nothing more than his own experience & the support of his family & friends hoping it would secure his future & allow him to call his own shots for the first time in his professional life specialising in VR-VZ Commodore models.

Unbeknown to many, he had gathered an impressive garage of vehicles commensurate with his many years in the industry, but he was not one to gloat so very few people actually ever knew but he lived & breathed cars.

After his untimely passing TOTAL COMM SPARES was put on the market but was subsequently closed for 3 months until a buyer was found, after a deal was struck TOTAL COMM SPARES was re-opened under it’s new ownership but after a little more than 12 months the partnership faltered & it was at this time I was approached as a potential buyer of the business at the request of Roberts family & after many weeks of careful consideration & discussion amongst industry peers (& even some competitors) I decided to purchase TOTAL COMM SPARES & continue to build upon Roberts legacy.

How do I know so much about Robert Ammendola?

He was my best customer (I was a new/used/reconditioned parts supplier to Robert at EVERY Commodore business he managed & continued to do so on an even bigger scale when he opened TOTAL COMM SPARES) 15 years in total, LOYALTY was another attribute he exuded.

Also Robert was what I considered “my best mate” who always had a smile & kind word in good times & bad & I miss his professionalism in the industry but he also showed me that if you’re good to the customers & go the extra mile to help them in their times of need you will be rewarded with the same sort of loyalty & assistance Robert had in droves & that is also a major part of his legacy that I will continue to strive towards in continuing to build upon his dream.

To this end I have merged my own business “THE HEADLIGHT HOSPITAL” with “TOTAL COMM SPARES” & will own & operate the two from the same premises making it the one stop “COMMODORE PARTS & HEADLIGHT SHOP”!

R.I.P Robert Ammendola!
